I have spent a great deal of time this week in my little greenhouse wondering how to utilize it for real. Its a great place to dream. I have a little useless heater and have brought in some plants to winter over. I think I will try to bury the roses deep in the compost pile just outside the door. I have a nice thick layer of horse poopy on my tiny allotment and I was able to get Gideon to help me bring down some old fire place bricks from the old home site. They are from around the mid 1800s. I found the producers on line. The bricks were brought here from cape cod. I laid out a little path on the side of the snap pea fences. Im not sure if thats were they will stay, but it was very nice of Gid to help me. The hill is tiresome, but I suppose if it were not there, I would die of a lazy heart attack. They best thing that happened this week was that when I was shamelessly pestering Mr. Sonny pony, Sting came to the fence and smiled at me. I know your probably saying "that old granny lady is crazy" Horses dont smile and definitely not Sting. But he did, and Im thrilled. Its the only attention I have ever received from the old gentleman and Im thrilled. I gave him a big hug and told him its ok to be jealous of Mr. Sonny. He is Mr. Personality. It gets him in all sorts of trouble. Banishment and the like. I swear that pony is always up to something. Not to be trusted, but definitely to be smooched. Well Sting kept his eye on me. So glad to know he knows Im here. After all he has lived here for three years. He is very well trained to respect personal space, almost too well trained. Its great when you have an eight year old up on his back. It has made me wonder over the years if he was unhappy. Im glad to know he still has a smile in there.
