I have been working on my pies. I changed my grandmas recipe from crisco to butter after reading Kristen Kimball's "The Dirty Life" She says the best crusts are half lard and half butter. I didnt have lard so Ive been working with butter. The little pan has Calebs gluten free, dairy free version. His crust is made with Bobs Red Mill all purpose gluten free mix. The dairy is replaced with coconut oil. It has the consistency of butter. More or less : ) This pie was strawberry rhubarb. thats grandmas rolling pin. Mother gave it to me and I love using it.


Blueberry pie with smaller gluten free version. The pie crust has a very buttery shortbread type of taste and held together really well. The filling was simply blueberries and sugar.
